Update; I’m creeping up on 6,000 ish words.
Despite still being behind word count wise, I’m going to take my own advice and not worry about the numbers and just write.
But good news, I feel like the ball is starting to roll and gain momentum. Which is an encouraging feeling.
The weekend came with many distractions.
Like a sale on nerdy sweaters I couldn’t resist.
And a pile of thick cut, french fries that I had to devour.
Meanwhile, in a string of bad luck, everything around me is breaking.
My glasses broke. The lens popped out and then went missing.
My desk chair broke. And for the record, I’m not 800 pounds, I’m very tiny. The chair was just old, and decided to give out during National Novel Writing Month.
Went to the library to do some writing. Instead of peace and quiet, there were a bunch of little boys running around, playing computer games and cursing at each other. Is it just me or does colorful language sound so strange coming from a ten year old? Never heard a kid call another kid’s mom a “double bitch.” Maybe it’s a gamer thing.
Anyways, despite all that, I’m going to keep writing and keep this story going. One way or another. I’m beginning to get in the habit of writing daily. Be proud of the little accomplishments.
Hopefully, I can pack in a lot more words today, Day Five. We’ll see what happens.
What’s been your biggest distraction so far? How’s NaNoWriMo treating you guys? Let me know in the comments!
Write with Heart,
Lady Jabberwocky
