Write with Heart,
Lady Jabberwocky
My favourite part has been seeing my word count grow incrementally each day. 500 words here and there really adds up, and that feeling of stepping back from my computer after writing a particularly exciting scene, to see that I’ve made a significant dent in my word count, has been very satisfying!

I loved this too! Made me feel so accomplished. 😊

My favorite part of Nano is when I’ve pushed through a busy day and still made myself sit down to write. It feels like more of an accomplishment after words when I had to work harder to put words on the page.

I got a new angle and found the “voice” of my story finally: “As a young girl of seventeen in the 21st century, one would hardly have imagined I was in want of a husband. Everyone wanted me to think about college and my career; Husbands and marriage were for the Amish or people in other countries, not for an American girl of Italian and Irish descent.”

I didn’t do too well during NaNoWriMo as I fell ill in the second half of November. But I wrote 10,000 words and feel committed to carrying on through December. The best thing about NaNoWriMo 2020 for me was getting excited about my project and getting over the fear of the blank page. It was my first year too, so I can’t wait to try again in 2021. 😊
