  1. “Come on! Get up and go study for your exams,” mom shouted at me.

    “I’ll start at 7, it’s still 6 minutes!!.”

“No! Get up! Come on! Say one.. two.. and three.” With that she pulled me out of the couch and sent me studying.

It has been 10 years to this conversation, but unfortunately I still take those 6 minutes whenever I can. I still procrastinate till I get a clean slate to start with. We all do. Be it waiting for the perfect time, the ideal tool, a new day, or even a new year. We don’t realise how much time we lose waiting for the right time to come around. I haven’t studied enough psychology to understand why we get this oh-so-tempting idea to reset the cycle before even beginning. But I do know that I can control it like my mother does with three little numbers.

From this moment forward I’m not gonna wait for the “perfect” time to start afresh. I’ll get up and get right to it with the magic my mother taught me. So here I go. One.. Two.. and Three!! 😃

  2. I don’t actually make new year’s resolutions. It’s not because I never fulfill them. Mainly, it’s because I make “resolutions” all year long.

But this year, if I absolutely had to make one it might be this: Having just moved into a new house and having been in it for only a month or so and not yet having everything unpacked and organized, I would like to have that all done by the end of February.

Maybe that’s not really a resolution because I did not say “I resolve to have all that done by the end of February.” But it’s the best I can do at this moment.
