Feel the Fear
I’ve got chills – they’re multiplying
and my heart rate is out of control
I’m breathing faster and I’m crying
while my poor stomach does a roll
this fear is mortifying, I feel I’m dying
it plainly drains my soul.

Trying to open the door was difficult; sweaty palms do that. Knowing what was just beyond the door caused my heart to beat rapidly and I imagined it was knocking on the door, alerting the evil within to my presence.

Fear feels like that last piece of popcorn; it’s dried up and burnt, but, gosh, you still want it anyway, because it’s your life. Then, it hits your diverticulitis and all hell breaks loose!

Uncontrollable shaking, while trying to hide it. A quivering lips, wanting to cry out, but the tongue is sandwiched tight between sharp teeth. A pounding heart deep inside, trying to escape its cage. Wanting to run full speed on weakened knees. Rapidly breathing, faster and faster, until finally, the ground surrounds…passed out.
