As the new year begins, I find myself reflecting on the past year and thinking about what I want to achieve in the year ahead. While I have always made new year’s resolutions, this year I am taking a different approach. Rather than making a list of specific goals that may or may not be achievable, I am focusing on a few key areas of my life that I want to improve.
One of my main resolutions for 2023 is to prioritize my mental and physical health. This means making time for regular exercise, eating a healthy and balanced diet, and taking breaks when I need them. I also want to make sure that I am taking care of my mental health by setting aside time for self-care and practicing mindfulness.
Another resolution for the new year is to focus on my personal and professional development. This means setting aside time for learning and growth, and seeking out new opportunities to challenge myself and expand my skills. I also want to be more proactive in my career by taking on new projects and challenges, and seeking out opportunities to collaborate with others.
Finally, I want to make more time for the things and people that matter most to me. This means spending quality time with my family and friends, and making an effort to stay connected with those who are important to me. It also means making time for hobbies and activities that bring me joy, and finding ways to give back to my community.
In short, my goals for 2023 are centered around self-improvement and personal growth. I am excited to see what the new year brings, and I am determined to make the most of it by setting and working towards meaningful goals.

I actually wrote a post Sunday for Linda G. Hill’s Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 1st, 2023 that answers this very question!
This year, I resolve to make NO resolutions. That doesn’t mean I won’t have goals, nor does it mean I won’t work on improving certain things in my life. (Oh man does that list keep getting longer.) What it means is, I’m haven’t been and will continue to not wait for January 1st to make those changes!
If on June 27th I decide I need to start walking every day…I’m not going to wait. I’m going for a walk and make a date with myself for the next day. On March 12th I may choose to increase my goal for blog posts. Maybe on November 1st I will give up caffeine. Okay, that one’s a lie, I’m pretty sure I bleed coffee, and if I did not show up at work caffeinated they would quickly send me home. You get the point though. Instead of waiting for the turn of the calendar, I’m going to D.I.N.K. (Do It Now Kiddo – thanks for the acronym, Flylady!) my way through the year and see how far I can fly!
Happy New Year!

There’s a lot I’d like to accomplish with both personal and professional growth. Hoping to finally get something published this year and also learn an instrument. (Lord help me!! Lol!)
