In July it is invigoratingly cold where I live in Queensland, Australia, and great weather for a trip to Melbourne in the state of Victoria, to walk down the laneways and see the fine old buildings of Australia’s most beautiful city.

Slippery, sliding sometimes snowglobe, with occasional moments of dazzling sun revealing gems scattered over the white landscape that is my yard.

Winter is a savage Karen who rants and raves, leaves, then drunkenly walks back into the shop to rant some more a few more times before her far more pleasant sister enters to apologize to everyone.

Sitting in front of a crackling fireplace tucked under a favorite afghan, a cup of hot cocoa in hand, mind reflecting on the past year, searching for opportunity for change as you stare into the red hot embers, the cold stillness surrounds you, the possibilities of dreaming a new reality echoes the promise of spring.
