you are indispensable.
And to someone, someday,
your words will hold incredible value.

“If in doubt, have two guys come through the door
with guns.” – Raymond Chandler
“The criminal is the creative artist; the detective only
the critic.”
G.K. CHESTERTON
“There simply must be a corpse in a detective novel,
and the deader the corpse the better.”
– S.S. VAN DINE
#May of Mystery! And check out this week’s writing prompt.
“The detective isn’t your main character, and neither is
your villain. The main character is the corpse. The detective’s
job is to seek justice for the corpse. It’s the corpse’s story,
first and foremost.”
“Nobody reads a mystery to get to the middle. They
read it to get to the end. If it’s a letdown, they won’t
buy anymore. The first page sells that book. The last
page sells your next book.”
Let May of Mystery begin!
Stop.
Open your ears.
Open your eyes.
Look around.
Inspiration is out there.
I’ll be honest, my WIP has been trudging through the swamps of writer’s block lately. Last night, during a thunderstorm no less, some ideas sprung to mind. I scribbled them on paper, in total darkness. It was nice to just stop, tune everything out and brainstorm.
